Melanoma is genetic. Meaning if someone you are related to you has it you are more at risk than someone who doesn't have a history of it. Something else that is gentic is your skin tone. Skin tone plays a huge role because if you have skin that is lighter it produces less eumelanin. Eumelanin protects from the sun harmful rays.

Other reason you might Develop Melanoma

Sun exposer as well as other exposer to UV rays seems to be a leading cause in getting Melanoma and other types of skin cancer. Although exposing yourself to the sun is good, too much can damage your skin and when your skin because damage your are at risk of developing Melanoma. So reapply your sunscreen!
